Marisa is a storyteller at heart. From a young age, she has had a deep passion for people, especially those with different perspectives than her own. Her highly analytical education studying industrial engineering has given her the skills to be a problem solver, no matter what the problem may be. She started her career in data & analytics consulting, specifically in the data visualization space. Here, she started sowing the seeds of bringing forth life to her client’s analytics in a visual sense. Through consulting, she has grown a solid foundation of knowledge across multiple industries. She still felt an itch to pursue a more creative design career - an itch that had been born as early as her childhood - which led to an exploration of user experience design. Through UX, Marisa found that she could really start to understand and better implement user-centered design not only in the data world, but in all her future endeavors.

 

In order to build her skills in UI/UX, Marisa completed a year-long certification program through Springboard’s UI/UX Career Track curriculum. This program required 700+ hours of hands-on course material, with expert mentor oversight, and completion of 3 in-depth portfolio projects.

 

Having tackled her Springboard certificate, Marisa is ready to take on the digital space, melding her analytical background with these newly-formed design skills to truly build a new way of solving problems.
